Newbies / Megui file size question
« on: September 21, 2010, 06:06:22 PM »
OK I'm getting the hang of megui abit ;D

My question. Before i send my jobs to the worker and it taking for ever to encode write etc.

I want to know if i can actually tell my average\estimated final output file size before hand. I seam to be waiting until the final video starts encoding and in some cases that could be a few hours untill I'm told the current/project fize size. Is there anyway for me to tell the estimated file size when i'm say for instants sorting out my econder settings and bitrate settings before actually sending to the jobs and starting with the workers, therefore possibly saving me alot of time ???

Thanks :)

I don't fully understand but while your online before you wisk of somewhere, maybe you can help me some more :) Ok so I've executed the command in cmd to run ffmpeg -h, my example is 'C:\Users\admin\Desktop\bin\ffmpeg -h' this brings up a huge list of things i can do to get help, but i don't quite see what i have to do next. I surpose right now i need an answer for one simple question to help me understand were i have to go from now. IS ffmpeg run in cmd or once install correctly does it bring up a windows app? if it brings up a windows app, how the hell do i use cmd to execute the command to install this? (well two part question lol )

Example please :D

Edit: Never mind figured out how to execute through comand, now the last line of writting says...." use '-h' to get help or, even better , run 'man ffmpeg'.

Now i typed '-h' and i tryed 'man ffmpeg' as well and i'm now basically prompted with 'no such command'.

Downloaded the latest static build (2010-09-21), opened comand prompt in windows an run ffmpeg.exe

Another comand prompt triggered by the ffmpeg.exe opens up processes some writting and closes again. I repeat, run cmd as admin and same thing happens.

I can't seam to find a good audio extracter/ converter. I checked out yamb which i like but when it comes to extracting the streams it only uses the original formate of the audio and mp4. Can anyone recommened me a good audio extracter that has the options to convert the audio wile it extracts to what ever formate you require at the time. If this is not available and i'm asking for to much just a simple desent audio converter would do??? That way I can extract the audio with yamb and use the other software to convert to formate choice :D

Thank You :)

I still don't no what all of it means though but i'm getting somewere now and compressing is what i want to do.

Audio Encoding / megui: audio error newb
« on: September 14, 2010, 04:45:43 AM »
sorry if this has been posted before i've been looking over the net for a wile trying to find a solution, i can't really make out the solution, i've read things about nero acc and something about be happy. But i'm total new and just want to shrink a video of mine. So i'm hoping that someone could offer a straight forward solution.

Ok so mugui is up and running i create my avs scipt and load in the video output that i want, now time for audio otherwise i'll have a video that plays without no sound , duh ! and i pick one of the encoder settings.( i end up just playing about with them all to see if that fixes the audio error) then choose my bitrate and then press auto encode, etc etc.

i'm at the queue now. and i've got an audio error.
