TS and MTS: edit them
« on: February 20, 2012, 07:04:28 AM »
Hi.

I have some TS files and MTS (from dvb, from camcorder, from multiavchd).
Use: on pc, ps3, bd player.

these files are containing:
h264 1080i50 + audio DD 5.1

my questions:

1)
how to edit these files without reencoding them (also leaving them as TS or MTS, no mp4)?
I have a 4 hour movie.
I'd like to save only 1:52:00-1:54:58 and 2:12:24-2:19:20: the remaining can be deleted.

I tried Tssplitter&joiner and tsRemux:
I dont understand how to set the time counter for cutting. H:M:S seems not to work.
cutting using the Position is too hard for me.

can you suggest me other tools or, much better, tell me how to use the tools above:
Tssplitter => default 00:00:00. I try to write 1:52:00 but the timer return to all zeros!!

2) after I will cut the sequences fron the files above (with your help hehehe), I will demux them to get the ac3 dd5.1 audio only.
how compress it (as it were a MP3, but with 5.1 channel)?

thanks a lot.

best,

PS: I did cut my MTS from camcorder, but the lenght was 5 minutes!! this was easy to do.
now with 4 hours video it is hard, because in tsRemux if I write 1:52:00 I becomes 1:40:00 (??)
I think I dont know how to use this tool for cutting.

PPSS: why I go not sound in tsRemux preview?
Audio: no sound
Starting playback...
Movie-Aspect is 1.78:1 - prescaling to correct movie aspect.

so..in the meantime I read that audacity or eac3to are able to cut ac3 6 ch files into more chunks.
but I dont know the code, i.e how to tell eac3to to do following tasks (wikipedia did not help me):

"save only the audio from 1.34:00 to 1.45:00 and from 3:09:56 to 4:12:34 and from 00:00:00 to 00:34:20"

it is possible?

thanks in advance.

it is unpossible. :(
because: music => dd 5.1
but commercials are dd2.0!!

so...the 2 channels are longer than the other 4!!! :(

audacity cannot help me.
and Tssplitter&joiner...I have difficulties to set the trimming time. it reset itselt everytime to zero (?)

:(

If you have the times, http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=162984 might be worth a try,..

thank you.
I will try it, even if I am not enough able with command lines.

I hope this toll let me to trim some part ac3 6 channels of the TS file, even if 4 parts are encoded in DD2.0, this caused Audacity to be unuseful.

thanks  ;)

a good tool :)

8 songs.

5 ok, very fine!
3 failed: even if I want to cut from seconds 9312 to 9527 I go from 0.00.00 => i.e. the WHOLE source file!

very odd.

also I am a bit happy and a bit confused ;)

If you contact the author over at doom9 and/or make a proper bug report over at: https://github.com/athomasm/delaycut/issues the author will probably try to reproduce and fix the problem.

so, I sent a message to the developer.

I told him that after 5 cut processes, the 6th cutting produced the whole file from 0.0.0 to 04:00:00.
and that the tool did not like when I changed the file name of the output.
workaround: cut-paste the output file to other folder and remane it. restart delaycut.

a very great tool:
the big file has been loaded in 1 second (audacity: 10 minutes!! and audacity did not merk that the dolby was changed: 5.1, but commercials DD2.0 therefore 2 channels was longer than the other 4).

I am happy. all done:)
thanks a lot.
