Restoring blended frames
« on: March 12, 2012, 06:08:51 AM »
Hi Doom10 Forum, this is my first post :)

It's a very 'newbish' question I have for you relating to video conversion.

So I got a video source (wmv, 30fps,  progressive) where every frame has a blended touch of its neighboring frame(s). It's obvious on hard edges, so when there is a head, it has a blended slice around. I think it is
interpolated material or sort of. It runs at 30fps without stutters. The blending is in every frame. :(

I tried de-ghosting plugins but had no success, just looks terrible then. I need some sort of de-blend stuff but I could not find it via google for example.  I am using avisynth and virtualdub as software.

Any help or tips would be appreciated :)

Thank you, Xuvaz

And btw: This is a nice alternative forum, so kudos from me!  :)

It's likely linear blend -deinterlaced. Nearly impossible to salvage, but post a sample clip if you'd like a more thorough diagnosis.
