HTC Dream / Android Dev Phone 1 / T-mobile G1 settings

This post will be updated as better information is found.  Please contribute your own findings and corrections.  I have found many references on the net that may not be correct.

Device Capabilities:
Screen: 480x320  (1.5 Aspect Ratio)

My findings (T-mobile G1 /w CyanogenMod 4.2.7.1):

H.264 (x264 rev 1352)

• Framerate: 23.976 fps works (29.97 failed, 25 should work, but more testing needed)
• Profile: Baseline (no CABAC, b-frames, weightp, cqm, or 8x8dct)
• References: 7 or less (8 or more failed)
• Max Bitrate: At least 1Mbit (600k stated in link above, but have had no problems with higher)
• vbv-maxrate: Unknown
• vbv-bufsize: Unknown

bit off topic but still, are there any _GOOD_ video players for the android?

act1 doesn't fix AR, it stretches everything to full screen to avoid having to use cpu cycles for scaling, that on top of being non-free its annoying

I've only used "Video Player" and have not tried anything but 1:1 AR.  I'd like to see a more robust player interface, but I think we would be very lucky if the playback would be any different since I assume they are nothing more than frontends to the onboard decoder chip.
