Is there any windows interface version of x264. Commond line not so comfortable.
There are lots of GUIs out there for making x264 encodings from various sources (MeGUI, RipBot264, BD-Rebuilder, etc.), but afaict every one of them puts you somewhat at the mercy of the GUI's author wrt settings, i.e. the only way to have complete control is to run from the command line.

Maybe someone here knows a good GUI that allows full-control of the latest x264 settings?

MeGUI is pretty complete in terms of settings, iirc. Other than MeGUI, maybe x264vfw.

Sounds like jarod borked his builds. Use JEEB's builds until he can fix it.

find some distribution of g++ that uses a shared libstdc++ library instead of a static one

Techouse's links are dead, and it was a ~year ago he released a new patched x264-version, so it should be removed.

My thoughts exactly! It just doesn't seem right when official builds are so delayed...
I mean, I can understand few hours lags but aren't autobuild systems meant to be automated?
How come some humans can do a task faster manually?

What you need those packages for?

For example ..to comile mplayer/mencoder with x264,

If you compile x264 the "Debain Way" the result ist (Example):
libx264-112_0.112.1867-i386.deb
libx264-dev_0.112.1867-i386.deb
x264_0.112.1867-i386.deb

Too bad that the source of x264 is not "debianized" like MPlayer.....

Be carefull with v1882... I'm having weird pixelations when encoding 1080p vc1 video.

I've created a new post with images and a test sample, but it's pending mod approval as it's been flagged as spam...

You can see it at doom9 until it's approved here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=159329

I've had some very nasty corruption with v1882, alot worse than yours, but only afaict in the movie's end credits (white lettering rolling-up on black background). Totally different settings than yours, and an h264 source. Am trying 1867 now to see if the issue remains.

The only thing that is different from older encodings that I can see, apart from v1882 of course, is I notice a "qpmax=69" in the output, where previously this has always been "qpmax=51". I use medium/default settings except for --tune film.

EDIT: r1882 is badly broken--returned to r1867 and no such problems.
